Stare at it (but not the url at the bottom because I haven't the slightest idea how to get rid of that). Do you feel the excitement rising within you? It's time for a revolution...A new generation of hope and freedom, rising on the horizon over the dark foreboding waters which we once were hopelessly confined to; casting its warm beams, heralding the beginning of something beautiful, wonderful and even sanctifying...
Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
But (PSLE's over so I can start a sentence with 'but'!!!!!), the thing is, the time is now, the time we've all been waiting for, the time we're finally released from the shackles they chain us to...
We'll burn our assessments, tear up our worksheets, throw our papers into a pyre, make aeroplanes out of our notes and throw them into the sky, where they'll fly off, never to see us again, make confetti with our textbooks-
*Ms Sarina cuts a demented ranting lunatic off*
Ms Sarina: Or, we could just put in our efforts to save gaia and recycle them! *Flashes her trademark white-teethed grin*
*Numerous groans arise from the class as their hopes of retribution are shattered*
But hey, c'mon, at least they crush and tear the papers at the recycling plant too!
However, not all are rosy-cheeked and starry-eyed at the end of the period of torture.
When Ms Tng Yong Li was interviewed on how she felt about the end of all her assessments, her face crumpled up and she couldn't utter a word; lip trembling while tears well up in her eyes. Of course, she regained her composure rapidly, dashing her tears away and huffed with an offended air, "Don't be silly, it isn't the end to all assessments! Just because PSLE's over doesn't mean we can stop! We still have secondary, JC and university, and of course if you wanna get a degree-"
She was then forced to retreat under a shower of thick assessment books thrown by enraged students.
And where were the care ambassadors during this?
"Oh really?" One care ambassador, who declined to be named, says, beaming from ear to ear (actually, this description is scientifically proven impossible, since our mouth muscles only join with the lower segment of our face while our ear is located in the middle segment, but, oh well, that's what we were taught), "Wow, she finally gets her just deserts!" Before receiving quizzical looks from her classmates and mumbles, "Ahem, I mean, uh, I really didn't know such a thing was happening. I was, uh, at the, uh, um, speakers, trying to, uh, fix the quality of the sound using toilet paper." She says in the gravest tone possible, before adding self-consciously, "What? It really works!"
As the cadbury song goes (Well, Zara's version anyway):
Wouldn't it be nice if PSLE were over?
We could read the whole library's books!
We could go to England or Australia,
Do whatever things we wanna do!
And if your mum tells you to get off the computer,
You could tell her PSLE's over!
Wouldn't it be nice?
Well, now it is!!!!!!!!!!
And it's terrific!!!!!!!!!
So, some things you are recommended to do now that PSLE's over:
- Run around like a headless chicken
- Throw rubbish in the rubbish bin
- READ HARRY POTTER
- Drink all the cold drinks you want
- Flood Ms Sarina's mailbox
- READ HARRY POTTER!!!!
- Force Mrs Lee to play netball
- Burn all volleyballs (Though why some people are so attached to these injury-causing devices still eludes me)
-READ HARRY POTTER IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LIFE!!!!!
- Eat chlorophyll
- Balance a car on your head
-READ HARRY POTTER OR ELSE SOME PEOPLE WILL...WILL...STITCH YOUR ARMS TO YOUR BACK WITH A COPPER THREAD AND TEAR OFF YOUR EYELIDS AND THROW YOU INTO A BOTTOMLESS, DARK ABYSS AND LEAVE YOU TO STUMBLE AROUND IN THE DARK FOR DAYS WHILE THE DUST BURNS YOUR EYES AND WHEN YOU FINALLY EXHAUST ALL YOUR ENERGY YOU FLOP DOWN AND WORMS COME TO EAT YOU UP AND YOU WILL DIE A SLOW, PAINFUL DEATH!!!!!!!
Idea for this punishment copyrighted Tunnels, I'm not that sadistic, but I am that violent and fully capable of doing that.
There is, still, a downside, as Germaine helpfully pointed out: graduation is coming closer and closer.
In my opinion, they should let us have PSLE in P5, and let us have the whole year of P6 for...ah...contributing to society.
Technically, by having fun, we are lighting up other people's lives ('To spread sunshine to the hearts of others, one must have sunshine in his own heart.' Famous quote from Romain Rolland. From here we can deduce that spreading sunshine to the hearts of others is a very noble feat indeed), and, thus, contributing to society greatly.
Of course, as usual, the MOE refuses to acknowledge our great ideas.
So the truth is there, bare, plain, and true, that our days of craziness are numbered.
Anyway, let's try not to think about that until we really have to.
As Hagrid said in Goblet of Fire, "...what will come will come and we'll meet it when it does."
Merry Hairspraying!
